[DT#9] staple gun + X = Y

Ok, this one took me about two hours to complete which is weird because it’s pretty simple. The fact that I kept thinking of funny captions in the form of “staple gun + x = y” and giggling didn’t help…

Daily Tool #8

I have this pair of what I’m calling “flip-grip pliers” because I don’t know what they are actually called. They have two plier heads joined by a single axle and the grips rotate around the same pivot point so that you can use either of the plier heads. Basically, it’s like a switchblade/plier combo.

Daily Tool #7/Ann Arbor

gimlet_medium

My wife and I went into Ann Arbor this afternoon to see one of my good friends who was visiting from San Francisco. We stopped at Vinology and I ordered a gin gimlet (cuz that’s what you order at a wine bar).

“Daily Tool #6″/Thumbnails!

I added a thumbnail module to Realvelour today and while I was searching for the plugin I realized that I have “plugin restraint issues”. If left to my own devices, I would install every single WordPress plugin and turn my website into the internet equivalent of MSNBC or CSPAN or one of those news shows with so much crap in the crawl and the airspace and the sidebars that you can’t even really watch the news because your brain is completely freaked out by all the information it’s trying to absorb. Occasionally I lose this battle and install something like the “Hello Dolly” quote plugin for the admin page (which is AWESome and completely necessary).

Daily Tool #4/straight lines

I switched back to Photoshop because Illustrator was making things too easy and then decided to draw a hacksaw. The thing about hacksaws is that the blades are perfectly parallel, and I do not have the skillz to draw said lines without cheating. As the quality of the blade below indicates… I did not cheat. see the saw.

Almost as bad as failing on day #2 is failing on day #3… thankfully my co-workers were full of good suggestions today and I’m still feeling motivated to complete this ridiculous task. read on.

Wacom/Daily Tool #1

Anyways, the first thing I drew was a stick figure saying “hubba hubba” in honor of Lady Gaga’s Video Phone cameo, and the second thing I drew was [a] power drill. Read more!
